Supporting Individuals

HEE’s Directorate of Global Health Partnerships (DGHP) is responsible for the development of partnerships and peer-to-peer learning within a wider responsibility for workforce education and training, as well as planning, transformation, and development support to the NHS workforce.

NHS Individual development is one of three global ‘offers’ or portfolios developed by the DGHP.

The Individual Offer programme role is to deliver and support global learning opportunities which are inclusive and enable NHS Staff to engage in mutually beneficial co-developed programmes, throughout all stages of their career. The programme essentially does this by undertaking workstreams which:

  • Develop and improve individual members of NHS staff
  • Attracting more people into globalised NHS careers
  • Promoting diversity in leadership

Learning Outcomes Framework

The development of the framework will draw on the expertise of many individuals and organisations to define the learning which is applicable to both clinical and non-clinical audiences. The final Learning Framework is due to be presented here in March 2023.

Global Activities Map

Global workforce programmes have been delivered across the NHS at a local and regional level since the establishment of HEE in 2013. Activities have included the enhancement of NHS international volunteerism and placements, as well as the recruitment of international staff in the NHS.
