Strategic advice to the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) – Prosperity Fund China

HEE provided Strategic Advice to the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) in the British Embassy Beijing on the Prosperity Fund China.  

The Prosperity Fund is a portfolio of cross-UK Government Official Development Assistance (ODA) programmes. The Fund is focussed on middle-income countries where 60% of the world’s poorest live, and where 60% of global growth will come from by 2030 (UK Government 2015).  

The Prosperity Fund Better Health programme in China focusses on primary healthcare strengthening and access to medicines. To support the programme, HEE facilitated access to expertise from across the NHS to build system-to-system relationships in China and provide strategic advice on primary healthcare policy.  

The programme will be delivered in 2021-22 by FCDO’s partners, and HEE will continue to provide strategic advice to quality assure the health content of the programme.
