Mental Health Nursing Capacity-Building in West Bengal, India

HEE provided education and training advice to the West Bengal government to upskill and empower nurses and increase mental health awareness. We supported the West Bengal government to bid for grant funding to facilitate the programme. The programme’s aim was to improve mental health care through:

• Technical review of Mental Health awareness training package, translating UK best practice
• Quality assurance of train the trainer sessions and the creation of ‘master trainers’
• Support to develop a good practice network to connect people working on similar projects.
