NHS Consortium for Global Health

Purpose and legal basis for processing

Your personal data will be used for the purpose of providing flexible, quality-assured health technical expertise to support delivery of global or domestic work by the NHS Consortium for Global Health, whose Secretariat is hosted by Health Education England’s Directorate for Global Health Partnerships.

The legal basis for processing your data is legitimate interests, the details of which can be found here. Data will be used to contact individuals who work in the UK health sector for them to contribute technical health expertise and knowledge sharing to global health programmes and/or with overseas partner country governments, in line with the Consortium Members performing their tasks as NHS Arm’s Length Bodies and associated agencies. Categories of personal data concerned

Categories of personal data stored are likely to include, but are not limited to full name, job title, employing organisation, team/department, line manager name and contact details, telephone number, email address, and any information relating to an individual’s professional expertise and experience.

Who will your data be shared with?

Personal data collected as part of this service will be adequate, relevant and not excessive to meet the requirements of CTAS and its associated functions. Your personal data will be held as an electronic record. The data can only be accessed, seen and used as required and/or permitted by law by staff who need access to personal data so they can do their jobs and other partner organisations under data sharing agreements. When a request for expertise is made through the service, elements of your profile may be shared with relevant individuals, teams or organisations associated with the work of the NHS Consortium for Global Health. These may include but is not limited to the following, both in the UK and outside the UK: Departments/Ministries of Health and/or related government departments, local government, research and academic institutions, health service providers e.g., hospitals, civil society organisations, development partners.

Transfer of data outside the UK

Your personal data may be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA). However, the Consortium Secretariat will ensure that the General Data Protection Regulation standards and other relevant data protection legislation are applied to all your personal data transferred outside of the UK or EEA. Your profile will only be shared on a legitimate need to know basis and data subjects will be consulted ahead of any sharing. The security of the data is assured through the implementation of Health Education England’s policies on information governance management.
